Collection: Independent Music History: Scenes, Labels & Key Records
This print collection brings together the most iconic, influential, and rare records from music’s alternative edge organised by city, region, and the labels that shaped them.
From post-punk in Manchester to experimental pop in Scotland, from Factory and 4AD to Creation and 2 Tone, each print curates a visual archive of moments when local scenes changed global sound.
These are not just lists, they’re stories told through records.
Carefully researched, thoughtfully designed, and made with respect for the music that mattered and still does.
Built for those who want to trace the cultural thread, one pressing at a time.

Welcome to The Sense of Doubt
Hi, I’m Alejandro De Luna, the creator behind The Sense of Doubt, where I design wall art inspired by music, pop culture, and cultural heritage.
I grew up in Mexico City and set off on my own adventure in 2010. Since then, I’ve called places like Stockholm, Hangzhou, London, Manchester, Berlin, Leipzig, and now Madrid home. Here in my studio, I dive into research, sketch ideas, and bring my designs to life.
I’m endlessly curious, whether I’m exploring obscure cultural histories or obsessing over the legacy of bands and artists like The Smiths, The Velvet Underground, Nico, Lou Reed, The Fall, Joy Division, New Order, The Stooges, Iggy Pop, Ramones, The Replacements, Nick Cave, Prince, Dylan, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Morrissey, The Cramps, Phil Spector, and Roy Orbison to name a few. That same passion fuels my work: I love taking stories, moods, and fragments of culture and turning them into prints that grab your attention, spark conversations, and reveal something new every time you see them, just like a favorite song or film.
So far, over 10,000 music and pop culture lovers in more than 20 countries have picked up my prints, along with custom commissions. Each piece is made in small batches, hand-signed, and crafted entirely by me in my home studio.
