Celebrate your hometown as wall art with my bold, graphic interpretation of Dirty Old Town.

Inspired by the rough living conditions he witnessed growing up in Salford, Ewan MacColl originally wrote Dirty Old Town in 1949.

Since then, many people have covered it, including The Dubliners and The Pogues, and even Rod Stewart (before he discovered leopard print pants).

★★★★★ "The background detail is very thoughtful. The stencil effectuated for the main text and the lyrics suggest an element of decay, which was true of Salford in the 1940s and 1950s when the lyrics were written and I was a child of the city. The whole, including the name of the song's creator, creates an evocative and welcome addition to my wall as a constant reminder of where I came from." - Peter B.

Celebrate Salford, Manchester, or your own Dirty Old Town as wall art with this bold, graphic interpretation.

The print reproduces the original lyrics as sung by Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger.

I found my love by the gasworks croft / Dreamed a dream by the old canal / Kissed my girl by the factory wall / Dirty Old Town, Dirty Old Town

This is an officially licensed print. Full permission has been granted from Sony Music.

Hang it on your wall with pride.
